Severe bleeding is the top cause of preventable deaths in the US - do you know how to ‘Stop the Bleed’?
Not just for defensive incidents, this top rated program is for every day life - from traveling in vehicles, using power tools to enjoying outdoor activities we are at risk of severe injury. This international program is designed to teach students how to identify life threatening bleeding, how to properly apply a tourniquet, wound packing and more. Taught by an experienced Stop the Bleed Ambassador, students will gain an understanding of the risks of severe bleeding, how to stop bleeding on different areas of the body, and the different equipment available. This class uses the 'Stop the Bleed' curriculum as a base, then continues to more advanced bleeding control beyond simple tourniquet use and wound packing. You will learn about junctional wound control, torso and non-extremity bleeding control as well as an introduction to occlusive dressings and recognizing tension pneumothorax. Review of the MARCHE algorithm, how to properly triage patients in a muliple injury environment and more.
